The Keg was developed by Rusty Preisendorfer with power surfer Wade Carmichael. Surfline reviewer Lincoln Eather tested a 5â10â at 30.5 litres and found a rare combination of speed, power and immediate familiarity.
Performance without a long adjustment
Many professional models require exceptional fitness and precise technique. The Keg keeps high-performance response while distributing enough volume to help a broader group of surfers paddle, accelerate and link turns. Its drive carries through large carves, yet it can still redirect quickly around difficult sections.
The transition from bottom turn to top turn feels natural, allowing the surfer to build speed rather than fight the board. That balance gives the model a wide wave range and makes it a credible alternative to owning several highly specialised shortboards.
