In his Twin Fin Pool Party comparison, Noel Salas tested four different designs under repeatable wave-pool conditions. The Rusty Twin Fin stood out for how polished and complete it felt.
His 5ā7ā test board measured 19.25 inches wide and 25.5 litres. It produced immediate speed, projection into the lip and fast transitions between turns. More importantly, it carried drive both frontside and backsideāan area where some traditional twin fins can feel loose or difficult to control.
How it surfs
The Rusty Twin Fin favours smooth lines but is not restricted to retro surfing. It accelerates quickly, flows through flatter sections and redirects with less effort than a thruster. The refined rail and rocker give the speed a useful framework so the board can be pushed through top-to-bottom surfing.
It is a strong choice for surfers wanting the freedom of two fins without giving up modern response.
