Muffin Top Review: Easy Speed for Everyday Surf

A fast-paddling everyday board that creates immediate speed and connects weak sections without feeling passive.

Muffin Top Review: Easy Speed for Everyday Surf

The Muffin Top is designed to create speed early and carry it through sections that stop many conventional shortboards. A fast-paddling outline, generous foam flow and practical rocker help the surfer enter waves sooner and start moving immediately.

More than a groveller

Parallel sections in the outline combine with a flatter deck and angular rails to generate drive from the bottom turn. That speed makes it easier to connect weak sections, then redirect back towards the pocket rather than simply racing down the line.

The model feels relaxed and flowing in soft surf, but it can also be enjoyable when the waves improve and the surfer wants a different line from a high-performance shortboard. Its focus is accessibility and momentum, not extremely tight vertical surfing.

Best for

The Muffin Top is a useful everyday option for surfers who want more waves, earlier entry and speed in conditions ranging from weak beach breaks to playful, cleaner surf.
