Since the Rusty brand was established in 1984, every genuine model has been connected to Rusty Preisendorferâs design work and oversight. That continuity matters because a performance surfboard is more than a familiar outline or logo.
Rusty introduced certificates of authenticity to make that connection visible. The certificate records the board as part of a design and manufacturing system built around approved files, experienced shapers and controlled construction.
Custom still matters
Standard models are an excellent starting point, but two surfers with the same height and weight can have very different ability, fitness, technique and local waves. A custom conversation allows sensible adjustments without losing the characteristics that make the model work.
For South African surfers, authenticity also means regional craftsmanship aligned with Rustyâs global standards. The aim is equipment made for youânot simply equipment made for someone approximately like you.
